Every call on this board comes from a local union hiring hall's own public posting — a website, a job-call page, or a recorded jobline — the same information a member could get by checking that hall directly. This board just puts many halls in one searchable place, so a traveler doesn't have to call or check dozens of halls one at a time to see who's working.
Each listing links back to where it came from. That link is the source of truth; this board is a convenience for finding it faster, not a replacement for it.
Securing employment for the membership is one of the oldest objects of the Brotherhood — written into its first constitution in 1891. A hall's job call is that object in its most literal form, and a traveler who can't find the call can't take the work. This board exists to close that gap: the halls already do the work of posting their calls publicly, and this just makes those postings easier to find and compare.
